Nemesio de Guzman was a sprinter who competed in the men's 100 meters and 200 meters event at the 1936 Summer Olympics. A native of Alaminos, Pangasinan, he won silver in the 400 meters at the last Far Eastern Games in Manila. At the age of 20, he competed in his first and only Olympic Games. He was eliminated in the first round of both the 100 meters and 200 meters. De Guzman still had a season’s best of 10.6 seconds in 1942. In World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the Philippine Scouts and was killed in action in 1944.
