Andres Tan Franco was a high jumper who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. The six-foot-tall jumper debuted in the 1951 Asian Games in New Delhi, Franco by winning the gold medal. He finished his Olympic stint at 31st place. He once again represented the Philippines in the 1954 Manila Asian Games, where he bagged the bronze medal.
Franco then later played basketball, and became a basketball referee upon retirement. He also had a career as a police office before becoming a technical official in track and field.
