Danilo Florencio was a basketball player who competed in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City and the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. He also helped the Philippines win the 1967 Asian Basketball Confederation tournament.
He turned professional with the YCO Painters after his Olympic stints, and later starred for the powerhouse Crispa squad in the 1970s. He was accused of fixing games for money and was suspended from the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA), but was later exonerated and allowed to return to the league. He then played with the U/Tex Wranglers, 7-Up, Toyota Super Corollas, and Galerie Dominique Artistas before retiring in 1983.
Florencio moved to California in the USA after his career ended. He worked in a hospital in San Francisco, California. In 2007, he was inducted into the Philippine Basketball Association Hall as one of the 40 greatest Filipino basketball players of all time.
