Neil Diaz Agbayani was a player of Basque Pelota, more popularly known in the Philippines as jai alai.
He and compatriot Pablo Artemio Garlit were able to reach the semifinals of the Cesta Punta doubles event, only to lose to hometown favorite Juan Antonio Compañón and Juan Mugartegui, 40-17. The Spanish duo eventually went on to win the gold.
It was the fourth and last time Basque Pelota was played in the games as an exhibition sport, and the first and last opportunity that Filipino pelotaris were able to participate.
